A Rich History of Community Leadership
Founded in the 1940s as the Calimesa Improvement Association, our organization has been at the heart of Calimesa's growth and development. Since its inception, we've dedicated ourselves to promoting the community, providing essential services, and advocating for the needs of our residents.
In the early years, the Chamber played a pivotal role in establishing key community infrastructure. We donated land for the local fire department, spearheaded the creation of street lighting, and were instrumental in the development of the 11-acre park on Avenue I. Our efforts extended beyond city boundaries, as we collaborated with neighboring Yucaipa Valley to ensure the park's completion.
Recognizing the importance of community engagement, we took a lead role in the city's incorporation process. Through the tireless efforts of dedicated volunteers, Calimesa became an incorporated city on December 1, 1990, marking a significant milestone in our history.
Today, the Calimesa Chamber of Commerce continues to be a driving force in our community. We remain committed to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
